Diminishing returns

 

It wasn't a huge banyan tree

Botanically unidentified.....

stood upThe flow of river bank

Exposed its roots

8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper

created an origami boat

The childhood dreams

imagined a successful voyage

Admire the great sailors to achieve

All the seven great oceans

to explore the fantasy and

Reality as well

But it's stuck under the roots

The sloppy boat

capsized and deteriorates

Time passes

remains rest in peace

Under the surface of

human greed.

Childhood dreams floating as boats in the deep waters of knowledge, experiences, failures, successes. The roots exposed in the waters, sometimes embracing the boat and sometimes impeding the voyage represent the ideologies intertwining our society! You brought back my nostalgic memories and reinvigorated my ongoing voyage….Thank you Uncle!!
